EccTex

Ecctex is a niche-specific platform that allows church organizations to create websites, that solve a wide range of problems for church workers, save countless hours and automates bureaucratic procedures.

My role & input

As a product designer my task was to define the goals, understand the challenges and create a system, based on given data. Ecctex began as a collaboration with St. Constantine & Helen Cathedral, so the first website was done for them. At this point the project is at a first out of four phases.

Problems to solve

Church services and calendar events are often not listed on the website.
Many churches don’t have a website, which makes it harder for them to be known and found.
Existing websites often lack localization.
Donations can only be made physically.

Greek Orthodox Church is at a digital disarray. Everyone does their own thing to the best of their abilities. As a whole, it lacks consistency.
Priests & pastors spend extra hours solving bureaucratic issues for citizens.
In order to book a service or a meeting with a priest, citizens need to be in personal contact with the person or visit the church.
